The Uprise Experience: Houston Black Theatre Week is proud to welcome Sankofa Collective of Houston as a contributing partner for this year’s celebration of Black artistry and storytelling.

 

Known for their bold and transformative work, Sankofa Collective will present one of this year’s most exciting new additions — the Houston Black Theatre Week Monologue Slam.

Set for Wednesday, October 22nd at 8:00 PM at the historic Deluxe Theater, this electrifying event will showcase raw talent, compelling performances, and the artistry of actors ready to leave it all on the stage. Participants will compete in a fast-paced, high-energy night of performance, with details on how to sign up — plus information on prizes — to be announced soon.
