
SYNOPSIS:
When matriarch Odessa Mitchell passes, her grandson William returns home to Louisiana and unexpectedly inherits her beloved juke joint. But tensions erupt with his estranged mother, Teresa, a recovering addict who managed the cabaret in Odessa’s final years. As the community prepares for Fall Fest, old wounds resurface, family secrets are revealed, and a shady businessman threatens to steal their legacy. William must choose between the past he fled and the family he never truly knew. Blending soulful music, humor, and heart, Odessa’s Cajun Cabaret is a powerful story of legacy, healing, and finding home again.

Julian’s journey as an actor, writer, and director spans more than a decade, with credits that include Black Boys Cry (1989 Dreams Productions), Kila'Delphia, Every Rose Has Its Thorns, Chicken N’ Biscuits, Sleeping with the Enemy, Rumors, Watch Night, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Soul Purpose, and more. His directorial debut came while attending Sam Houston State University with the original production The Black Museum: A Black History Showcase, setting the tone for a career dedicated to telling meaningful, impactful stories.

In addition to his theatre work, Julian recently added “author” to his list of accomplishments with the release of his inspiring new book, Dream Heavy: Born to Dream, Built to Handle It — a reflection of his own resilience, ambition, and belief in the power of dreams.
